UCLan’s International Agents come to Preston
UCLan’s international agents recently travelled to Preston for this year’s International Agent Conference! Visas and documents completed, our colleagues from across the globe flew over to Lancashire for a week to explore and learn about the university they do so much wonderful work for behind the scenes.
Conditions were perfect for tours around the campus to meet staff and students, and the rare week of British sunshine was topped off towards the end with a visit to the Lake District. The weather may have been a bit different from usual, but things became more traditional when it came to food as our guests were treated to a Lancashire Hotpot!
Throughout the week, our agents gave updates of the audiences from their regions, with Govind Singh Bisht and Michael Ge providing standout presentations at the immaculate Westleigh Conference Centre, giving fantastic insights into the audiences they work with and outlining their plans for the future.
One standout theme from our team in China is the success of the Journey to The East programme. UCLan students are each year given the opportunity go on a once in a lifetime trip to China to absorb the culture and make new friends. The programme entered its fourth year in April when five groups of students flew over to various locations across China, and students yet again came back full of praise.
“The International Agent Week is a great event where agents can meet with key staff from schools talk about the courses, facilities and support around it. It will help agents who can in turn brief pospective students and parents when they consider UCLan as an option. The staff were all very friendly and the weather was very nice, it was a very enjoyable event.” – Michael Ge
