Scholarship Winners 2016

Congratulations to all the students who have been awarded a scholarship to study at UCLan. This year we awarded 17 scholars for 4 awards. These were to offered to high performing students, who had more than one scholarship offer- Thank you for choosing to study at the University of Central Lancashire.

2016 Awards Information

1.Chevening

2 of the awards are the standard Chevening FCO awards (UCLan discounts the fees by 20% and FCO pays the fees, stipend and flights.

3 of the awards are partnership scholarships – UCLan waives full tuition fees and Chevening FCO pays for flights and stipend.

2.Victoria University College, Myanmar Award

First time this year.  These 4 awards were given to promote recruitment from the region, and particularly from this partner college.  They get a fee discount of £4,000 in Year 1 and £2500 in year 2 and year 3.  They are the only undergraduate award this year.

 

3.GREAT India Scholarship

Second year we are offering these in conjunction with the British Council in India.  UCLan contributes £2,500 and the British Council matched the funding, making each award £5000.  There are 6 awards.

These candidates automatically qualified for the international bursary for all students from India (£1000) and Excellence scholarship for 2:1 calibre students (£1,500), making the total value of their award £7,500.

 4.China Daily Scholarship

This is offered by the School of Languages & Global Studies – (previously Journalism, Language & Communication) to China Daily for their employees.  It is a full tuition fee waiver.

There are 2 awards – one for International Journalism and the other for MA TESOL with Applied Linguistics.  We have formally recognised the award since 2014.
