New Cyprus Campus welcomes its first students

Yesterday saw the first cohort of enrolling students walk up the marble clad stairway into the interior of one of the most modern teaching environments on the island.

Following an intensive build programme, which started in February and ended with the final fit-out during September, everything was in place to welcome our new students to the Campus.  The enrolment process started yesterday and will continue throughout the week.

Students are signing up for undergraduate programmes in Business, Accounting and Finance, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Computing, Mathematics and Law and the MBA and MA TESOL masters programmes. Whilst the majority of students at this stage are from Cyprus a number have travelled from much further afield including the UK.

On their first day, students were given a welcome talk by the Rector, Dr Lee Chatfield, and then met with their Heads of School and academic staff to be introduced to their courses.  There are events planned for the rest of the week which will introduce students to the e-learn, IT and library resources as well as student life at the Campus and in the local area of Larnaka and Pyla.  Live coverage will be broadcast on Kiss FM (Cyprus) this Thursday.
