UCLan Cyprus campus unveiled at Cyprus State fair 2012

Last weekend, Chhaya and I travelled to Cyprus to attend the State fairs in Nicosia, Cyprus. It was a very special event as we publicly announced the launch of the UCLan Cyprus campus in Pyla, near Larnaka. The exhibition was very busy and we could tell both parents and students had heard of our brand new campus through the grapevine. With approximately 12 undergraduate courses and some postgraduate courses in the pipeline, our UCLan Cyprus campus definitely attracted a lot interest as we are the first British University to set up a campus in the country. Students and parents were particularly impressed by the ‘mobility’ element of the courses which enables students to spend up to two years of their four year programme at our main campus in Preston, in the UK.

It was also nice to see that Cypriot students were still very interested in studying at our UK campus, where 500 undergraduate courses and 200 postgraduate courses are offered. Some exciting subject areas were: Forensics, TESOL, Dance and Architecture. Students were particularly impressed by our range of courses and the level of support offered by services such as Futures, our career and employability service.

Overall, it was a very successful event and there is no doubt UCLan Cyprus has already left an imprint within the Cyprus community.
